Fiona is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechatronics engineering, at UQ.

She joined LASA to stay connected to her Peruvian roots after moving to Australia in 2018. As the Secretary of UQ LASA, she takes care of managing all correspondence, reporting events and meetings to the UQ Union, recruiting for the executive team, and leading major activities such as Market Day.

Andrea is a current Bachelor of Science student at UQ. She is pursuing her degree in Biochemistry and Molecular biology to further her passion for human health and tropical infectious diseases.

Andrea hopes to encourage young students to think about science and education and their importance in achieving a sustainable future with quality education and medical attention for all. Outside of academics, you can usually find her playing beach volleyball on campus or sharing her love for native Peruvian languages through music.

Yaser is from Colombia and he’s currently studying Health Sciences at UQ. He joined LASA to connect with fellow Spanish speakers and Latin American students.

As Vice President his duties include organizing/promoting LASA events and helping out the President and secretary with their duties. Being an exec at LASA has been a great way to meet new people, promote our culture on campus and it looks great on a CV.
